For the past few weeks, I've been feverishly knitting fingerless gloves. I wanted to come up with a few cute designs for a local craft fair in mid-October and I knew that if I didn't get started soon, I would never finish in time. The extra creative energy that has resulted from designing and knitting has prompted me to think about that little Etsy shop I opened, oh, about two years ago. At the time, I had thought that I would sell a few items and buy a few items, but I didn't and I don't know why. Maybe it was lack of creative energy or maybe I'm a procrastinator (maybe - ha!). Either way you slice that cake nothing ever came of it, and following the metaphor, it sat in the box and molded. Except that, as far as I'm aware, Etsy is mildew-free and my shop is still fresh and ready, just waiting to have new items listed.
I hope to have a few items up before the end of the week. I have finished a few designs and their samples, and reknit my patterns to make sure that they will turn out like their originals. My next step is to photograph, then pull out my "writing hat" and list the items with their descriptions and tags (note: I don't have an actual writing hat, though I'm open to suggestions for one). With that in mind, I am open to suggestions about my shop (once it has had listed items) or the blog.
In the past I've been some what lax in updating various blogs, or keeping a personal journal. I hope to update at least once a week on this blog. Though, in all honesty, I might have a few posts up by the end of this weekend, since I'll be attending the Midwest Fiber and Folk Art Fair. It will definitely be a weekend of fibery goodness and I intend on sharing that experience.
For now, I'll leave you with a current picture of one fingerless glove I've been working on: Emma.

Please stop by often and let me know what you think!
